Although mobile broadband is an extension of the new found wireless freedom, it comes with a few disadvantages.

Advantages of Mobile Broadband

There are two advantages of mobile broadband. Broadband mobile is exceptionally convenient. Activation of broadband internet simply requires a modem and internet access to be available. If there is good coverage, mobile broadband can be used overseas from any computer terminal in the area. Also, mobile broadband can work without a landline. This means less cable and more portability, even if you are at work, home, cafe, restaurant, etc. Broadband plans can be purchased from an Internet Service Provider. Most Internet Service Providers combine wireless internet plans with wireless broadband plans. Two popular wireless broadband plans are Tmobile HotSpot and ATT Media Kit.

Disadvantages of Mobile Broadband

Presently, many mobile broadband networks are very limited. Whole areas many not be covered. Or, only partial areas are covered. Bad receptions is a common complaint, and often broadband internet is not accessible. If there are too many users in a particular area then internet services is slow.

Additionally, the bandwidth offered to customers is quite small. Those who use the internet habitually will notice the limited bandwidth available, compared to those who seldom use broadband internet. Even more, mobile broadband plans charge on a per MB basis, which can become quite costly if not used sparingly.

Nonetheless, mobile broadband, although limited, has alot of potential that should be tapped into. If you value convenience and mobility more than consistency and speed, then mobile broadband could probably meet your needs. It might take a while, but mobile broadband will soon develop into a most preferred source of internet access. Its potential and promising success should not be underestimated.
